Ernst & Young's FSO Tax Performance Advisory (TPA) practice assists financial services companies in developing world class tax functions. We offer a broad array of services, including tax accounting and compliance process improvement, tax sensitization of ERP systems, automation of complex hedge fund allocations, and implementation of new tax processes and/or technology to deal with ongoing legislative and regulatory changes (e.g., FATCA, Dodd-Frank). TPA works with clients to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of their tax functions and assists them to better connect with Executive Management, including Finance, Operations, Compliance and the front office.

We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Manager in our FSO TPA practice. Responsibilities
FSO TPA provides assistance to our clients in the following areas:
Operating Strategy and Organization Design: Identify ways to improve operating effectiveness in Tax by evaluating current roles, responsibilities and skill sets with regards to changing needs, benchmarks and leading practices.
Process and Controls Enhancement: Re-design and deploy streamlined tax processes including new technology solutions with proper controls embedded to manage risk.
Data and Systems Effectiveness: Embed the needs of Tax into Finance and IT systems to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes.
Risk Management: Assess and prioritize tax risks to establish a proper control environment that takes into account the various regulatory regimes applicable to financial services (e.g., SOx 404, Dodd-Frank, Basel III, Model Audit Rule, FINRA SIC).

To qualify, candidates should have:
a bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of relevant work experience; financial services experience desirable
CPA, JD, EA, or PMP
education and work experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting/finance/tax, tax software development and/or implementation, tax or finance performance improvement
experience in one or more of the following tax functional areas: corporate/partnership income tax compliance and/or accounting, transfer pricing, information reporting and withholding tax, sales and use tax, VAT, property tax
strong leadership ability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
ability to travel 30-80% of the time, depending on home location and client projects

We seek professionals with experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:
designing and implementing tax function operating models
assessing and improving tax processes and controls
implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, OneSource Provision/TaxStream, Sabrix, Vertex O-Series)
embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran)
developing and implementing custom applications (e.g., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server)
